Laurent Reynès

Sculptor, painter

Born in Montpellier on September 13, 1961, he graduated from the National School of Architecture in Montpellier. Qualified Art Doctor in 2005 and entitled to supervise research (HDR) since 2015, he is teaching visual arts, architectural projects and architectural history at the Department of Architecture of the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Strasbourg.

His work takes its sources between Plastic Arts and Architecture. He paints and sculpts mixing spatial, landscape and architectural notions together. For more than thirty years, recurred and established references such as spatiality, environment, materials, formats and dimensions infuse the greatest of his work.

Teaching in architecture schools appears natural to him because of his goal of mixing reciprocal and inescapable influences of Plastic Arts and Architecture established all along Art History.
